Course Description

This class is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children, personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units.

Prerequisite :  Knowledge of current BLS skills, complete the Pre-Course Assessment in book with a 70% or greater, and have the book present at class.

Topics Covered

  • High-quality Child CPR AED and Infant CPR
  • Recognition of patients who do and do not require immediate intervention
  • Recognition of cardiopulmonary arrest early and application of CPR within 10 seconds
  • Apply team dynamics
  • Differentiation between respiratory distress and failure
  • Early interventions for respiratory distress and failure
  • Differentiation between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock
  • Early interventions for the treatment of shock
  • Differentiation between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias
  • Clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias
  • Post–cardiac arrest management

PALS Initial Course
A two day traditional instructor led course that includes all required lessons and skills practice set forth by the AHA for a first timer or a healthcare provider that needs a little extra practice.

PALS Renewal Course

This course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children, personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.

PALS Heart Code Activation Key
A blended learning option that offers the flexibility to complete the cognitive portion, Part 1, online through the AHA's only approved website. EMR then offers the flexibility of scheduling the practice, Part 2, and testing, Part 3, session at one of our regularly scheduled skills checks or call (972)235-8330 to schedule your skills check.

All Courses require registration. Have 6 or more students? We will come onsite. Additional Travel fees may be applied.

All participants must have the current AHA student required textbook. Renewing participants needing a textbook may purchase one for an additional fee.

All participants must take the pre-course exam. All current versions of this textbook have a code that allows access to AHA website. There is no limit to how many times you can take the pre-course exam.

If you bring your pre-course exam to class (upon signing in on first day) with a passing score of 80% and fail to successfully complete the course, we will guarantee you free entrance to any of our traditional PALS courses for up to sixty days at no charge. There is no offer to retrain without paying for the class again if you do not bring your passed pre-test.

Purchase of a course is NON-REFUNDABLE, but may be rescheduled within 60 days from purchase.
